Stereo-Babes is an improvised show by ImproŠke Group in which performers question female stereotypes and address them with help of audience suggestions. They use them as the starting point of short acts in which they shed some light on it. In the show they subvert individual stereotypes and place them in unexpected situations and relations to go beyond the limitations of normative (gender) roles.
Creators challenge resilient and outgrown stereotypical images of femininity with this show and, by doing so, deconstruct them in a theatrical manner. By using improvisational strategies they collaborate with the audience that substantively influences the content of the show. Each new show is a complete surprise, we promise you can expect significant emancipatory laughter and fun!
ImproŠke (ImproLadies) are open, non-hierarchical group of female improvisators that creates under patronage of IMPRO Association. They are researching the questions of gender and initiate different projects in which they play with subversion of gender stereotypes. Members see ImproŠke as a safe community in which they can research, develop themselves, try their limits and search for different forms of expression through improvised performance. Members met in 2014 at inspiring workshop on gender in theatre improvisation, they connected and activated and since then prepared a few productions, performed at festivals Red Dawns, Play with Me and Naked Stage, they also have monthly shows in Skladovnica.
