Tinka Pobalinka is immensely pleased, she will be able to introduce you to the basics of theatre make-up and character development. To be honest, she has been practicing fervently for months now. Everyone interested in different possibilities of make-up use in performance are welcome to join us.
Workshop will be divided in theoretical introduction (1 hour) and a practical part (3 hours). First we will learn about the basics of theatre make-up, how to contour correctly, the properties of character make-up, continue with the use of products and tools plus the importance of improvisation.
In the practical part, we will work together to develop your ideas that will enable the character to blossom in full bloom. You can play with gender change, ageing or fantasy make-up. We will be interested in how to supplement the character and costume with proper make-up, how the size of the space and lighting affects the make-up choices, the stages of proper product application and the tools that are best to use for certain procedures.
Do you have a wild idea that you are not sure how to realise yourself? The wait is over, apply and write what you would like to develop, so Tinka can bring appropriate products in her bags. It would be great if you could bring your costume along. If you have certain make-up products you love to use, also bring them along, everything might be useful.
Tina Prpar is one of the most active theatre make-up designers in Slovenia. She collaborates in both institutional as well as independent projects. She co-created complex visual images of characters in successful shows, such as Image Snatchers, Peter Kušter (Slovene version of Tiger Lillies), Troyan Women, Sea Gull, Glass Menagerie, Slovenian Songs, Ekshibitionist, etc.
